Wonderfully Made: A Reminder for the Days You Feel Not

Psalm 139:14

“I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

There’s something grounding about this verse. It’s not just a statement about creation, it’s a statement about identity. You’re not an accident or an afterthought. You’re intentionally made, with care, purpose, and detail.

Fearfully and wonderfully suggests both awe and precision. It’s like saying you’re designed in a way that’s meant to be noticed, on purpose. Complete in the sense of being exactly what was intended.

And honestly, that’s a relief, because if you’ve ever looked in the mirror and thought, "Oh no?” this verse gently answers: because you were made that way with intention. Even the parts you don’t fully understand.

At the same time, it keeps things humble. You don’t have to try to become someone else to be valuable. You’re already built with worth. The work isn’t about becoming “more acceptable,” but about understanding what’s already true.

And yes, sometimes it’s hard to believe when you wake up and you feel someway or your brain decides to replay every awkward moment from years ago. But even in those moments, the design still holds.

Maybe today, the thought to carry is simple: you were made with intention, even if you’re still figuring out what that means.

And if nothing else, you can at least say:

Yep… wonderfully made. Still wondering about the ‘fearfully’ part. Humorous right?

If this made you think even a little, I’d love to hear from you.

What stood out most?
